Shallow and wide, with a flat well and just enough of a lip to stop anything wandering off it.
The spots were brushed on one at a time, so they sit where a hand put them rather than where a pattern would. Each one blooms paler and a little grainy at its edges where the glaze broke over the speckle, the same pink, and no two the same shape.
The clay underneath is generously freckled, and the speckle shows straight through the cream. Stamped underneath. It is sized for the things you take off last: rings, a chain, an earring waiting for its pair.
